Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalised producers and workers – especially in the South.

Fairtrade Standards ensure fairer terms of trade between farmers and buyers, protect workers' rights, and provide the framework for producers to build thriving farms and organizations.

As with any investment sector, it cannot be said whether or not an investment will be profitable. Rather, many investors choose to invest in fair trade companies and securities products to help offset the less favorable business practices of some of their other investments.

Fairtrade's mission is to connect disadvantaged producers and consumers, promote fairer trading conditions and empower producers to combat poverty, strengthen their position and take more control over their lives.
